It was a long night waiting…
We finally went to bed and let nature take its course…
And sure enough, this morning we were delighted.
It seemed at first light we all were running to the barn to see if one of our sows had her first litter of piglets…
Our Turkey Lucky and some of the hens lead us to the excitement in the barn, like they just couldn’t wait to tell us what had transpired over night!
And sure enough, (cue the music) "like nothing ever happened", there she was as calm as calm could be with 7 little warm bundles, polka-dots and all bundled up to her on this wintry morning at Maple Valley Farms!
We are thankful for a healthy litter of pigs.
